[Oer-community] Why is an open community list discussing OER moderated?

Dear Wayne,

This list is already generating a great many e-mails (too many when you
consider that I already receive 60-80 per day on topics more directly
related to my work responsibilities. Therefore, I am for whatever reduces
the number by removing e-mails that are not of relevance or are of an
administrative nature - as long as it is clear that the moderators role is
not to censure ideas.

By the way - why did our moderator pass on the message from a participant
asking to be removed from the list -- this is exactly the sort of mail that
I, personally, do not want to see.

Thanks,

Virginia

Susan,

I have just posted to oer-community at athabascau.ca and received a message
that my post is being held "until the list moderator can review it for
approval.  The reason it is being held:  Post to moderated list. Either the
message will get posted to the list, or you will receive notification of
the moderator's decision."

Could you please post an open question to the list to ask participants
whether they want their contributions moderated or not.

As an open advocate - -I'm not comfortable with moderation of open opinion.

Wayne
